Beach/Dune Erosion
Reclaiming your lost land
Coastal dunes have developed due to the gradual slowing of sea-levels. Beach and dune erosion affects the geometry, height and length of any sand and dune environment under pressure from the elements. This occurs due to the forces of wind, rainfall and other natural agents, in conjunction with the slope of the land and sand conditions.
If not properly cared for, beach and dune erosion can lead to loss of land, significant unstable environments (which can lead to total collapse) and maintenance and safety issues for homeowners, commercial managers and golf course owners.
The best method for prevention
The best way to prevent beach and dune erosion occurs during the build phase, as this guarantees the appropriate anchoring methods are used to avoid future erosion. However, more often than not we find that our services are required when the erosion has already occurred, whether it’s in the early stages, or when significant erosion is present.
Our DredgeSOX and ShoreSOX systems have the innate ability to repair eroding dunes, with its patented design friendly technical mesh and anchoring system. Easy to install, they provide almost immediate control of areas under threat.
